Protect Yourself From Fraud

BuyPlanesForSale.com does not handle payments, guarantee transactions, provide escrow services, offer "buyer protection", "seller certification", or become involved in any way with any transaction. Should you be informed otherwise, consider it fraud.

Be Aware Of Scammers! The best way to protect yourself is to deal locally with folks you can meet in person.

The following should raise a red flag:

• Deal seems too good to be true
• Overpayment
• Mention of a client or debtor owing money
• An extreme sense of urgency
• Distant "buyers" responding to your ad, especially overseas
• Inability or refusal to meet face-to-face before consumating transaction
• A "guarantee"
  • Only a scammer makes guarantees.
• Western Union, Money Gram, or any other wire service
  • Once you've wired money, it is GONE.
• Cashier check or money order
  • Fake cashier checks and money orders are common.
• Shipping or Escrow Services
  • Most online escrow sites are fraudulent.

Never wire funds via Western Union, MoneyGram or any other wire service

Never give out any financial information (bank account number, social security number, eBay or PayPal information, etc.)

Legitimate buyers will give you their name, address and telephone number. Also, ask to see their identification, and write down their information.

If you have become involved in a scam, try to find and make contact with your local Fraud Task Force for immediate assistance.
